If the Shoe Fits…

Cinderella is proof that a pair of shoes really can change your life.

Shoes are an easy way to incorporate your personality and express your style on the big day. I’m a total shoe girl- the higher the heel the better- so I chose to don some gorgeous strappy heels on my big day. Once you work in weddings you can run in heels!

Whether in heels or sneakers, our brides truly bring a whole new meaning to fancy footwork…

I want to hear from you! What will your feet be donning down the aisle?

I’m wearing vintage styled heels in royal blue with jewels on them fr my vintage backyard wedding July 1st! My engagement ring has sapphires and I wanted my shoes to also be my something blue :)

I’m the girl that bought her shoes before even looking for my dress!! I have an awesome pair of 5 inch stilettos that I had the people who were closest to me sign the bottom of, so even though they can’t be with me at my wedding in Walt Disney World, they are still helping me walk down the aisle. Did I mention they signed in blue ink, to work as my something blue??

I really can’t wear heels so my shoes are going to be quite low.  I also have wide feet so it’s a nightmare!  If I could wear Converse I would but my dress is too long! I love looking at shoes just not wearing them!

I’m trying my best to find a pair of clear shoes for my Cinderella themed wedding!

I am going to wear silver heels with rhinestone bow on top for the wedding and then change into silver slippers for the reception!

I think a pair of pretty sandal will do it if you can’t walk with heels. That’s what I had for my Disney Fairy Tales Wedding at French last November. We had a photo session early morning before our reception. We were walking around Epcot for the perfect pictures. It was a fun wedding day for both my husband and I.

I wore heels for my wedding at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and kept getting them caught in the boardwalk. Thanks to my dad and our wonderful Disney Wedding Coordinator for rescuing my shoes so many times during that walk down the “aisle.” Can’t believe it’s been nearly five years since that happened.

Don’t forget to dance! Shoes are ultra important and if the dress is tailored to a specific length of heel it may be hard to switch shoes for dancing. Conversely if you don’t switch shoes it may hurt your feet to dance more than a couple of numbers unless you start with dance-able shoes. Whatever the case, pretty may have to be balanced with comfort and wearability.

There’s no shame in having 2 or 3 different pairs of shoes on hand and even a change of dresses to reflect the different parts of the day. Ceremony in the morning (and photos) in high sparkly open-toe heels. Reception in the afternoon in 2 1/2 inch dance shoes and watching Illuminations fireworks at Epcot in the evening in low (or no) heels is all workable. It can be an extra bit of fun matching shoes to different dresses too.
